Let me ask you only this, did you receive the Holy Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with Faith?…Know then that it is those of Faith who are the sons of Abraham…So then, those who are of Faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of Faith…for you are all one in Christ Jesus…heirs according to promise.
Galatians 3: 2, 7, 9, 28, 29 (ESV)
These prophetic scriptures clearly guide gentile believers directly through their robust heritage. As Gentile believers, we are sons of God through faith, righteously justified by Jesus Christ, now the sole mediator in a New Covenant with God. You are sons of God and Abraham because you first heard then believed God to mean exactly what he said, just as Abraham did. You no longer have to abide by any obligatory laws that constrain or overtly burden you. You have been declared righteous and worthy before God by your belief, not your works, just as Abraham was. God promised him generations of descendants who would follow his legacy of faith and be credited to him as his offspring. As a result, Gentile believers of yesterday, today, and all the days ahead will forever be his righteous offspring, his devoted team of Kingdom Leaguers.
So it is, gentiles have never been an afterthought in God’s Kingdom League. He has always had a perfect game plan prepared for them, and because they have always held a rightful position on his permanent roster of eligible players, He put them into the game early. Gentiles are, therefore, qualified to play and coach any position in his Kingdom League having signed a binding contract on their hearts with the shed blood of Jesus.
Gentiles were not God’s first team to play in the Kingdom League, but when offered playing time under the generous rules of the New Covenant, within a vastly improved and expanded Kingdom League venue, they enthusiastically bought into his stellar game plan, got on the scoreboard early and never looked back.
God, however, is a loyal and patient league owner and an exceptionally devoted fan, and while his All-Hebrew team has been in a long deep slump, his game plan is for them to make a late innings rally. Then everyone makes it to “The Show.”
Heavenly Father, thank you for placing us in the starting line up of the team that consistently wins by faith and not by performance. Help us to be stellar recruiters as it is your desire that the active roster be filled to overflowing. Enable us to actively scout and touch hearts for you Dear Lord that they may become our eternal teammates playing without error forever. Amen
