…“My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust”…under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield…For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ…
Psalm 91: 2, 4 and 1 Thessalonians 5: 9 (ESV)
As God’s faithfulness is resolutely brought to fruition in our lives through our faith and the realization of our daily need of his righteous interaction in our lives, an impregnable barrier of divine protection is formed around us, defending against all evil. For his solemn intention is to lead us into all righteousness within the protection of his kingdom.
Our part in the New Covenant relationship is simply to take full advantage of God’s rich resources available through Christ Jesus. We need to continue to build and sustain our faith in Christ by believing in all his eternal truths that fulfill the very Word of God. We must fortify our faith by spiritually absorbing the truth and authority his Word regularly. Therefore, for optimal protection, we need to expectantly seek and meditate on Christ’s Word daily, because it never ever loses its freshness or potency, as it can literally instill in us renewed revelation and revitalized protection every single day.
Firmly standing on the unconditional truths of Christ’s Word supplies us with the lightest, toughest, most comfortable armored protection we’ll ever adorn. And while this protection is invisible to the eye and as a result may be considered a bit frail, to Satan and his henchmen, it is impregnable. And though it has inherently mighty attributes forged from our creators’ very nature, its immutable powers of protection are not meant to be proprietary, but are freely available to all believers through the authority granted to Christ Jesus by the Father, and then through Christ Jesus to each of us.
You see, God never ignores or shirks his self-imposed responsibility to honor our faith in him through Christ Jesus, we mean just too much to them. For God established a new and sovereign covenant with Christ Jesus centered on providing us with the freedom to approach and embrace him in a closer relationship than ever before and with intimacy only achievable through an enduring loving relationship. God would never permit any evil entity to stand in the way of a loving deep fellowship with his children.
Dear Heavenly Father, keep us mindful of the powerful miracle-working truths contained in the Scriptures. They both enrich our lives and shield us from the evil one. For they build our faith giving substance and strength to our core beliefs and provide a solid foundation upon which to stand and confidently administer the power and authority, first given to Jesus, and now afforded us. Amen.
