If the Lord had not been my help, my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence.
Psalm 94: 17 (ESV)
How many times have we Believers heard, “Its a miracle, If God hadn’t been there to save my skin I’d be dead now.” I’ve heard it more than a few times. It is true! God and his tireless angels watch over us ceaselessly. We can all recall miraculous timing on God’s part that led us unscathed through seemingly insurmountable odds and out of harm’s way. How many times has he done it that we didn’t recognize? The point is he doesn’t do it just to save our worthless hide without rhyme or reason. Like a loving father, he does it to safeguard us until his righteous work of restoration and maturation have raised us up to be the sons and daughters he delights in and who will bring glory to his name. Extraordinary events such as these also provide irrefutable evidence from which to confidently press-on knowing the Lord is always with us.
Even Albert Einstein recognized the hand of God working in our lives when he said:
“Coincidence is God’s way of remaining anonymous.”
We can be assured that he will guide us through to maturity as we build a foundational faith to stand on. And God’s grace will abide forever because it is irrevocably linked to His great love for each of us. And for this reason, nothing will ever harm or hinder us unless God ordains it. To grow upright in Christ we will experience life in many of its most interesting and challenging manifestations with Father God overseeing us through the ministry of the Holy Spirit within us. Every minute of our life is a gift from God, which presents an opportunity to grow and know him more intimately. So stay tuned in to his gentle voice for guidance for every moment we recognize as precious to us is even more precious to God.
It is unmistakably true because, in the beginning, Christ Jesus created us for deep unhindered heart-to-heart relationship. We are here for intimate fellowship with him, so let’s agree to heartily participate. It should be clear now that he interacts with us in many ways. So let’s not just listen, but boldly act by starting each new day’s conversation.
Dear Lord, give us a full measure of life in its most enriching form and continue to guard not only our lives but also our hearts that we may experience unbroken fellowship with you. Let us be discerning of your voice in every setting, giving thanks for your loving attention to our physical and spiritual wellbeing. Amen.
